Special; Issue: Crater Lake at 100. In the days color photography became widely available, communicating the dramatic deep blue color of Crater Lake required artists as well as photographers. Fred Leutters, who worked for Kiser's Studio as a hand colorist and mountaineering photographer, was one of the best of the artists who rendered the colors of Crater Lake in oil paints on black-and-white photographic prints.
