On the front of the hat allong with the Crater Lake logo is a picture of the majestic Clark's Nutcracker. The Clarks Nutcracker is a very common sight here at Crater LakeThe Clark's Nutcracker is a member of the crow and jay families. They are specialists depending heavily upon whitebark pine seeds for food. They harvest tens of thousands of seeds and store them for winter the following year until the next cone crop matures in late summer. They have an incredible memory (perhaps the best among birds).
